Metal injection molding (MIM) is a manufacturing process that combines plastic injection molding and powdered metallurgy. It is expected to be used in various industries for producing complex three-dimensional components with high precision. In this study, the high temperature mechanical properties and microstructure of MIM specimen were investigated and compared with SLM (Selective Laser Melting) specimen. Tensile test showed the UTS of MIM specimen was lower than that of SLM specimen, while the creep test indicated that the MIM specimen had longer creep life than life that of SLM specimen. As a result of EDS analysis, carbides including Mo and Nb with a nuclear of Al2O3 were observed. In MIM specimen, δ-phase precipitation was not observed. It is considered that the formation of Al2O3 by oxygen contamination and the formation of Mo and Nb rich carbides suppressed the precipitation of γ” and δ phases, which affected the strength properties.
